Ornaments are a particularly tricky item to pack, and ones which are also especially fear-inducing. Often, these ornaments have a high value (either in terms of sentimental value, rarity and financial value, or both), but are extremely delicate.
If not handled with particular care and attention, these fragile items can often be broken in a move.
Thankfully, with a bit of extra foresight, you can significantly reduce the likelihood of this occurring during your move.

How to pack ornaments
1. Firstly, wrap your ornament in several sheets of tissue paper, then Sellotape securely. Make sure that any corners, edges or lumps are fully covered.
2. Then, for the outer layers, we recommend using sheets of packing paper (you can buy this online). Place your ornament on top, flat and in the centre of the sheets.
3. Secure 2-3 sheets of packing paper, then roll them around the ornament. Wrap the ornament tightly and securely. Use Sellotape to secure.
4. Repeat for the rest of your fragile ornaments, before adding them all to a thick and sturdy box, which you have labelled as ‘fragile’.
5. Make sure you point out this box to your moving crew, so that they can be sure to take extra care with it when loading and unloading.
